Steeped in historyWalworth Castle
The history of Walworth Castle can be dated back to 1150. It boasts the face that royalty has stayed at the castle. Notably King James VI Scotland, who was travelling down to his coronation to become King James I of England. The room where he stayed is now named the King James Suite, and this spacious multi roomed suite is the bridal suite at Walworth.
Now privately owned, the castle has been lovingly restored, highlighting many of its original features. Upgrading the beautiful building has consisted of refurbishing many of the bedrooms, suites and public areas, to make sure that it has 21st century facilities in a 12th century castle.
Weddings at Walworth Castle Hotel are magical.
It even has a dungeon.
One of the unique features at Walworth is the dungeon. You can use for either your wedding ceremony (small weddings) or for some of your wedding photographs. It gives us the chance to get a little bit creative with the light, not that there’s much down there.
Perfect for your wedding celebrations and your photographs. Fabulous grounds, all 18 acres of them, this consists of both well lawned and amazing woodlands.
The Wedding Breakfast.
This can take place in The Cardinals Court. Originally the main entrance to the castle, now lovingly restored with a fabulous glass roof. The courtyard looks onto the original columns of the castle.
Steeped in history Walworth Castle offers you a fabulous choice for your wedding day. From a dark and charismatic dungeon to a beautiful bright outside pavilion, The Lady Palmers Pavilion. Just imagine it, your dream wedding in a 12th-century castle, a place where Royalty have stayed.
