Creative wedding photography at Goldsborough Hall with bride and goom cuddling

Goldsborough Hall is a 16th-century historic house located in North Yorkshire, former home of Princess Mary, offers five-star luxury accommodation, fine dining, award-winning gardens and of course luxurious wedding celebrations. The Hall stands in beautifully landscaped grounds with unspoilt views over tranquil parkland, making it one of the most exclusive and beautiful places to hold your special celebrations. No wonder Molly and Matty chose this venue to host their very special celebrations.

Why Did You Choose Goldsborough Hall?

We asked Molly and Matty about how and why they chose Goldsborough Hall as their wedding venue. They said, "We looked at a lot of wedding venues before we found and picked Goldsborough Hall. Everywhere you look around Goldsborough Hall is beautiful in it's own way. The vast grounds have every backdrop you could need from a wild flower meadow, a woodland walk, perfectly pruned flower beds and hidden gems like the glasshouse with fountain. When you step inside the beauty continues , the drawing room (where we held our ceremony) is bright, light and dreamy with it's beautiful wooden floor, white washed walls and huge bay windows. The dining room is cosy and  relaxing, and the library is a somewhere you feel like you can hide away from the world next to an open fire nestled in a huge armchair. The library became our dance floor area and with its dark wooden panelled walls , it was the perfect place to become a disco. Finally, the orangery (where we had our wedding breakfast) is quite simply stunning with its marble floor and glass ceiling you can't help but fall in love with its elegance and beauty. The guest rooms are truly sensational and luxury is everywhere you turn. One of the best parts is you get the whole hall to yourself and you really can make it a home away from home and have your wedding exactly as you want it.  Everywhere truly is picture perfect. But the hall wouldn't be as fantastic as it is without the staff that work there and that was another huge factor for us picking our venue. The staff always made us feel welcome and like VIP's."

The Proposal.

View at Surprise View located in the lake district

But before we get to Goldsborough Hall we asked Molly and Matty about the proposal.

"The proposal happened way back on August 28th 2019. We had been on holiday in Scotland for a few days and came home via the lake District for a night. We went to a place near Keswick called Surprise View. This is a very special place to me (Molly) as I used to go there a lot with my mum, who sadly passed away when I was younger, whenever we are in the lake District (which is quite frequently) we always do pay a visit to surprise view. Anyway, up we went as usually to surprise view (it is at the top of the hill and overlooks Derwentwater). We walked a bit further along from the viewing point than we normally do , to a quieter area, Matty paused and looked a bit nervous and I asked him if he was alright and it was at this point he pulled out a ring box. I admittedly became very emotional quite quickly (nearly 10 years I had been waiting for this moment) and shouted no before he even had chance to say anything. I said no wait I don't want to be crying give me a second to compose myself. Once composed and ready, Matty asked and I of course said yes! He still winds me up about saying 'no'."

The Wedding Day.

The Preparations

Tons of laughter made our morning with Molly and Matty at Goldsborough Hall.

The Reveal.

We love this part, where dad gets to see his daughter all ready for her wedding day for the first time. Tissues at the ready. Then the amazing walk to the wedding ceremony, taking in the stunning wooden staircase at Goldsborough Hall. What a photo opportunity.

The Ceremony.

The most important part of the day, without this, well there wouldn't be a wedding. Molly and Matty were married in The Princess Mary's Drawing Room. Boy did it look spectacular.

The Celebrations -

From Throwing Confetti To Throwing Some Dance Floor Moves At Goldsborough Hall.

Molly and Mattys day was such a beautiful celebration at Goldsborough Hall.

And of course we loved spending just a bit of time with them both around this spectacular wedding venue.

Best Bits Of Your Day?

We asked Molly and Matty about if they could choose, what was the best bit of their wedding day spent at Goldsborough Hall. They told us, "

For me (Molly ) there are a couple. I loved getting ready in the morning with my bridesmaids, we had such a giggle and there was such a positive, exciting atmosphere all morning. I remember sitting to get my make up done and having a moment where it all became very real. Nerves kicked in but the team around me were all so supportive and I was so grateful for all the love and friendship in that room that morning. Another special moment for me is right after the ceremony had finished and me and Matty were by ourselves for two minutes ,it was so lovely to just share our excitement that we had finally done it . Unbeknownst to us this moment was captured! The other standout moment for me was the speeches, I loved all of them and I was so proud of them all for doing such a fantastic job. I did a speech and I was really nervous beforehand, the speeches were a part of the day where we all talked about mum (including myself) and it was one of the moments I felt like she was with us the most.

A standout moment for me (Matty) is when Molly arrived because I liked the 'parade' prior of all the bridesmaids arriving and then Molly finally arriving. I liked been back together when her and I felt less nervous then".

The Finale.

Then before you know it it was time for the first dance and the party. A pleasure to work with Last Anthem again and wow do they know how to rock a party.

And Finally From Us........

Some creative moments just to complete the most amazing wedding day celebration at Goldsborough Hall.

Do you have any hints or tips for couples planning their wedding day?

Molly and Matty said, "

Our advice - is do your wedding for you 2 ! It is your day, no one else's. It doesn't matter what other people think, if you like it - do it. Don't try to keep everyone happy - do what makes you happy.

Oh and of course , pick And Ever After as your wedding photographers - you won't regret it !"

We particularly liked the last bit..........

"The photos we have seen so far are breathtaking. How we remember the day in our hearts and minds has been captured to perfection in their photos.
