Le Petit Chateau Wedding Photography
Le Petit Chateau Northumberland Wedding Venue.
We were over the moon when Kerry and Kris asked us to photograph their wedding which would take place at Le Petit Chateau. Having photographed there previously we knew what a wonderful and unique backdrop their wedding venue would provide for them on their special day. Le Petit Chateau is a boutique hotel and truly unique wedding venue. Located in Otterburn, Northumberland, North East of England. Styled in the style of a luxury French country manor a combination of shabby chic, blended with elegance, nature and beauty, makes Le Petit Chateau a truly unique wedding venue that Kerry and Kris fell in love with.
With A Family Connection - "It just felt right".
" Kerry had always loved the beauty that is Le Petit Chateau, from seeing photos of the gorgeous gardens on social media to the eccentric room decor. Other venues that we had been to view did not compare and we knew that stately homes and manor halls were not us, despite them being grand. We wanted a relaxed and contemporary feel to our venue, something different, that none of our guests had seen before at previous weddings. When Kris saw Le Petit Chateau at an open evening, he knew it was the venue for them both as the French connection linked him to his sister and brother-in-law who live in Annecy, France with their two children, it just felt right."
Kerry & Kris - Their Love Story
We asked them about their proposal and they told us. Kris proposed to Kerry on our 7th anniversary (26th August 2019) on holiday in Lanzarote - after a day at the zoo, a trip that Kerry enjoyed as she absolutely loves animals, Kris then took her for a gorgeous meal at a restaurant on a cliff-side overlooking the beach; we then went for a walk along the shore line and took photographs, so which Kris asked Kerry how she felt about those photos being the last of them as boyfriend and girlfriend... shocked at his question, Kris had already got down on one knee and asked Kerry to marry him (as in his speech, Kerry said yes, why wouldn't she?!) - I mean he could have proposed at the zoo and got a dolphin to give me the ring but the beach setting was equally as romantic!
It was even better that our date for Le Petit Chateau also landed on the 26th August, just two years after the proposal, so not only did we celebrate our wedding day in 2021, but we also celebrated 9 years together on that date!
The Wedding Day
Now this was emotional especially for Kris.
Stand out memories from your day at Le Petit Chateau?
We asked about this.
"Can we say everything!?
Kris was so emotional when Liv (our niece) walked down the aisle just before Kerry's sister (and Maid of Honour) Aimee walked down because it was so hit and miss whether she would have been able to get over from France and be there as our flower girl, so it was a massive relief for him - of course he got emotional when his bride walked down too, which again Kerry did not expect. What was even more unexpected was the poem that Kerry had hand-written herself for Kris (Kris had no idea!) and it detailed so much love about their relationship that there wasn't a dry eye in sight!
Other key moments were: having our couple walk and photoshoots near the lake, around the gardens and at night time around the fountain - some spectacular lighting was used and it added a different, subtle more romantic ambience to the venue."
Photos and Fun
Your favourite photo?
There are LOADS!! Both Kris and I don't mind which you use of us from our walks and photoshoots around the venue - we love our huge group shot from the bridal suite balcony - photos of the bride with her girls in the bridal suite and Kris with his groomsmen at the back of Bertie's are fab! There is a long photo of us two with our bridesmaids and groomsmen either side of us in from of the pink-red wall of the Belle Epoque which we love! We especially love the photo where Kris and I are stood, my bouquet is hanging by my side, and we are surrounded by all the beautiful colours of the Le Petit Chateau gardens, just before we go in for dinner.
And Wait - there's more.
Then it got dark and...........
Any hints or tips for couples currently on their wedding planning journey?
- Finding a Venue with your date - Le Petit Chateau was perfect for Kerry and Kris.
- Finding an amazing photographer and/or videographer - shout out goes to Anthony from Jollygood Wedding Films for capturing our amazing wedding film - he was recommend to us by And Ever After Photography and they worked in partnership to capture memories of our special that will last a life time!
- Hiring a fantastic band who will entertain your guests for hours upon hours - House of Sax were phenomenal!
Once all this is sorted, then RELAX!! it will all flow nicely together in no time and your special day will be upon your doorstep. Take a step back on your day with your new spouse and watch all of your guests from afar (we were so lucky that people travelled to us from far and wide to come and celebrate with us; it got us very emotional that this may not have happened, but we're so thankful and happy that it all came together) and take a walk together and speak about how you are feeling about the day. When you are getting ready on the morning, breathe and have a drink - this is your day and nobody can take that away from you! And remember eat, drink and grab some cake before you go dancing - you'll need the energy!
From us a huge thank you to Kerry and Kris for letting us share you fabulous wedding day at Le Petit Chateau. We loved every minute of it.
