Runa Farm Wedding Photographers – Carolyn and Steve’s Day

As busy Durham wedding photographers, we’re lucky enough to work at the very best wedding venues in the county.  And that certainly is the case when we return to be Runa Farm wedding photographers.  Carolyn and Steve chose the perfect venue for their summer farm wedding in Durham.  There are so many reasons why we love capturing Runa Farm wedding photography but they’ll have to wait.  Right now, we need to start at the beginning of Carolyn and Steve’s day.

On the day, we got there early to catch up with the wedding parties getting ready.  Firstly, we caught up with Carolyn who was getting ready with her lovely daughters (and lovely bridesmaids) in one of Runa Farm’s gorgeous suites.  They were in great spirits and we got some lovely images of them before they left for the ceremony.

Carolyn looked amazing in a beautiful dress with a sweetheart neckline and an A-line skirt that fanned out giving her an amazing silhouette in all of our images.  Carolyn bought the dress from Blue Bow Bridal.  This was complemented with a gorgeous full-length veil and a bouquet of elegant white flowers with green foliage.  These wonderful flowers were supplied by Katherine from Forget Me Not Flowers . Her hair had been styled in a pretty up do and make-up expertly applied by make-up artist Anna Cordelia.

We then caught up with Steve, who we found with Carolyn and Steve’s other girls - their two gorgeous Labradors.  Who wore sweet floral button holes around their collars.  Steve looked very smart in a petrol blue suit with a grey waistcoat, pink tie and brown brogues.  Sorry Steve, we didn’t mean to mention how the dogs were dressed before mentioning you.  But in a house full of girls, we expect you’re used to coming in last!

The wedding ceremony was held in the Runa Farm Chapel.  This utterly unique chapel has an ornate tented chandeliered ceiling, smooth polished stone walls and shimmering lanterns.  Creating a soft a romantic light and a stylish Balearic vibe that is so perfect for a wedding ceremony.

After a lovely ceremony, there was a fun confetti moment as Carolyn and Steve walked back down the aisle, before everybody headed outside for a drinks reception.  And we took our chance to get some great images of the wedding party.

We got a great image of the whole family, Carolyn, Steve, their daughters and their dogs sitting on some hale bales which we know was their favourite image of the day.  Here, take a look!

As guests happily took refreshments and mingled, they were entertained by the Hartlepool BubbleMan and magician Andy Larmouth along with musical entertainment from saxophonist Matt Case

Storytelling Runa Farm wedding photography

The wedding reception was held in The Old Barn that had been dressed beautifully with striking flower arrangements, which were the creation of an amazing company called The Whole Sch-Bang who decorated the wedding breakfast room along with the staircase in the ceremony room. Tables were arranged in rows in a European style.  Carolyn, Steve and their guests all then enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast provided by Runa Farm’s talented team of in-house chefs.

As guests happily milled about after the meal, relaxing and exploring the farm, we quickly whisked Carolyn and Steve away for a few minutes for a mini portrait shoot of them.  Their two gorgeous Labradors joined us for some images and they couldn’t have looked more excited to be included in the day.  To make this possible Carolyn and Steve used PawPrints North East’s dog wedding chaperoning service.

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of the most gorgeous wedding cake, which was the clever creation of Fairy Hill Cakes followed by a romantic first dance.  Carolyn and Steve’s family and friends were certainly up for a party and they’d booked the  Daisy Vintage Caravan photo booth which proved to be really popular.  (Who doesn’t love a photobooth!)

Creative and Natural Wedding Photography In County Durham

As the party got started, we noticed outside that the sunset was stunning, so we took the chance to quickly whisk Carolyn and Steve outside for a romantic sunset image and it was so worth the effort.  The image we got was amazing and was our favourite of the day.  Here, take a look!

Back inside Runa Barn looked stunning.  After the sun goes down the ambient lighting makes the venue look so gorgeous and created the perfect backdrop for our last image of the day.  The image of Carolyn and Steve on the staircase under the stunning chandeliers was the perfect image to close the story of their wedding day.  Here, take a look.

We had so much fun capturing wedding photography at Runa Farm for Carolyn and Steve.  A laid back, fun, family friendly wedding full of love and laughter.  Congratulations to you both and thanks for having us there to tell the story of it.  We hope our images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.

We’ll leave the last words to Carolyn and Steve, here’s what they had to say about us.
